DutiesPlans, organizes, and directs the activities of the National Security Law Division, ensuring that the legal support and work product complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities: ensures compliance with Rules of Professional Responsibility for the practice of law.

Senior Counterintelligence Law Attorney: lead attorney on counterintelligence and related matters; and Senior Cyber Law Attorney: lead attorney on cyber law matters.Senior Insider Threat Law Attorney: serves as the primary legal advisor to the command on insider threat legal and policy matters.General Attorney (All Facets of AFOSI Mission): provides counsel in the areas of counterintelligence law; intelligence law; cyber law; military justice; electronic surveillance; intercepts; complaints resolution; criminal investigations; civil rights; Constitutional law; federal labor and employment law; administrative law; fiscal and federal appropriations law; ethics; search and seizure; and any of the diverse legal issues that arise regarding AFOSI's mission.

On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status.In addition to the above requirement: you must have professional legal experience in excess of three (3) years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the positionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Mastery at the expert level of national security law, counterintelligence law, cyber law, insider threat law, and ability to apply this knowledge to develop legal strategies for unique and complex factual predicates and time-sensitive situations.Mastery of techniques and knowledge of law necessary to independently identify and analyze factual, legal, and policy issues with relation to the command's counterintelligence and law enforcement functions missions.

Mastery of the principles and methods of legal research of various sources, and ability to perform in-depth legal research to provide effective written and oral legal opinions.Expert knowledge and skill in fact finding, problem solving, and interpreting laws, directives, and policies, and the ability to apply that knowledge to make decisions or recommendations that may result in the application, development, or amendment of policies or programs.Expert knowledge and ability to work independently to identify issues relevant to multiple mission areas to provide guidance to all levels of command, as well as interagency partners and international partners.

Ability to independently prepare and present, both orally and in writing, comprehensive legal reviews and instructional material on issues related the command's law enforcement and counterintelligence mission for all levels of command; and the ability to analyze, plan, organize, and direct the functions and supervise, mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
